JCPOA eases Iran-Armenia trade ties

TEHRAN, Oct. 06 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry’s First Deputy Morteza Sarmadi said the nuclear deal between Iran and world powers has facilitated development of economic ties with neighboring Armenia.

Since its independence, Armenia has developed excellent relations with Iran, Sarmadi said during a meeting with Armenian Ambassador to Tehran Artashes Tumanyan. He underlined that Iran’s deal with 5+1 paved the way for increase of cooperation, especially in economic field.

Tumanyan, for his part, reiterated that a large number of Armenian companies are willing to broader cooperation with Iran in the post-sanction era.

He pointed to the membership of Armenia in Eurasian Economic Commission, adding that, “If Iranian firms invest in Armenia, they will be able to export their goods to the commission member states.”

He said Armenia is the gate to the Euorpean Union which is an advantage for countries investing in Armenia.
